Questions around fashion + place

One of the foundational concepts of my current PhD research is looking at notions of place and how connecting to place, our immediate environment, the natural formations as well as the urban scape (it’s all part of it), and noticing the many communities of relationality that exist there, the human and the more than human, can allow for an ethic of care to emerge.

For fashion this means (to me) as starting from this place, this moment now, for fashion to emerge into being.

Instead of looking out to what’s happening in Paris, London, NY etc, the so called fashion ‘epi-centres’, what is fashion when it is in a state of becoming (flow) as guided by the magic inherent in this place now?

And how can it emerge in deep reverence, collaboration and reciprocity for all the relational communities that exist here and 1000yrs to come?
