Conversing with Polyester

I asked it, the shiny and sheer green polyester fabric that I had found years ago nestled in the back cupboards of an op shop, ‘what do you want to share with me?’
‘Use me, cherish me, respect me.
Make me into something beautiful and delight in me.
When I develop signs of wear and tear love me even more, and repair me.
I have already been taken from my home deep in the earth, long ago. And despite all the processes that have been thrown upon me, I’m still the Earth.
So take me and use me and cherish me.’
